I realize today that I'm not doing very well at this blog posting thing. My blog is entitled, A Girls Daily Bread, right? I've only seemed to have two posts. I guess life gets in the way sometimes, just like it can when we think about trying to squeeze in time in our day to hear from God. My prayer today has been simply for God to give me a perfect heart or rather a perfectable heart. Our pastor has been speaking on this for the past few weeks. What is a perfectable heart? It's not about "being" perfect-we already have too much of perfectionism in the world as it is. It's about the willingness to be made perfect, not of ourselves, but by Jesus changing us daily to be more like him. When thinking about this question-a song I've been mediating on recently...popped into my head. The name of the song is called Garden by Need to Breathe. The chorus goes something like this-"Let the songs I sing bring joy to you, let the words I say profess my love, let the notes I choose be your favorite tune...Father let my heart be after you." I can imagine Jesus in the garden, knowing he was to face his death and his heart was still perfect before his Father. The amazing thing is that we can have that same heart...because Jesus lives inside of us. So, I'm learning that to have that perfectable heart before God, we need to find a quiet place before him, in the garden of our hearts, and let Jesus live
from the inside out.
